Holi Festival of Colors
India is the land of a million festivals. It seems that every other day, a crowd of people celebrate one thing or another. There’s definitely not anything wrong with it. The world could definitely use some cheer, but when it comes to Anna’s absolute favorite Indian festival, it’s Holi—the Hindu festival of colors.
It’s not unlike Spain’s La Tomatina in the sense that people make a huge mess, but they don’t use tomatoes. Those who celebrate Holi toss powdered paint at each other, turning both their clothes and the street into a vibrant mix of all sorts of colors. The celebration has become so popular that non-Hindus living outside of India also celebrate it.
