Halle Berry then
American actress Halle Berry (54) started her career in the early eighties as a model. Yes, a model. She had a promising career ahead of her, finishing as runner-up in the beauty pageant Miss USA and in sixth place in the 1986 Miss World pageant. However, in the early nineties, she gave up modeling in order to pursue an acting career.
It seems like she’s made the right choice, since today, Berry is one of Hollywood’s most accomplished actresses. It didn’t take long before she landed her breakthrough role in the romantic comedy Boomerang in 1992, which was followed by a series of feature films throughout the nineties, including The Flintstones (1994), Losing Isaiah (1995) and Introducing Dorothy Dandridge (1999), for which she’s won two prestigious awards.
