Uma Thurman then
Despite her unusual look, or perhaps thanks to that, Uma Thurman started out as a model before she found her true passion in acting and pursued a career in the entertainment industry. She made her acting debut in 1987, after establishing a name as a model and appearing in Glamour magazine and gracing the cover of British Vogue.
Thurman participated in several feature roles, some successful, others a failure, before she received her memorable role as Mia Wallace in Quentin Tarantino’s hit Pulp Fiction in 1994. Although a series of actresses auditioned for the part, the acclaimed director felt he had chemistry with Thurman, and after one meeting, he cast her for the critical role.
