Let’s be honest; no one likes doing house chores. Even if you’re someone who enjoys cleaning (yeah, right), some chores take forever, or they hurt your hands, or they’re just downright gross. There are certain chores we wish we never had to do again. Well, there are many chores we’re lucky to never have done – but our parents or grandparents can’t say the same. Thankfully, many of these chores have fallen out of fashion or necessity over the years. Many are still done, but in much smaller quantities and in a different fashion than before.
#1: Churning Butter
Although you can certainly still churn your own butter at home, it hasn’t been the norm for most households for decades—perhaps centuries. For the most part, people stopped having to churn butter in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Once butter was more readily available by the 1940s, it became a chore of a bygone era. That said, nothing beats fresh butter, so this is a bit of a lost art form.
