#47: Speak Now Or Forever Hold Your Peace
One hotel employee brought up a really good point about customer service. They said hotel staff wants to fix problems, not compensate for them. They’re all there to help out guests and make their stays as comfortable as possible. So, if something is bothering you when you first check in to your room, speak up.
Don’t suffer through the night and then wait till the morning to complain. If you do that, there’s not really any way staff can fix the problem since the time has passed. A lot of times, if you wait to complain, it can be interpreted as an attempt to get a discount or a free comp. Staff can see through those attempts, so be upfront and honest.
