Horror movies have a distinctive ability to scare us and leave our hearts racing. In the “Science of Scare” project, researchers have conducted studies with brave volunteers connected to heart monitors to track the physiological responses caused by different films. As a result, it becomes evident that some horror movies are scarier than others… Are you ready for Halloween?

#1: Sinister (2012)

With an average heart rate of 86 BPM and a scare score of 96 points, Sinister takes the concept of slow-burn terror to a new level. Combining found footage style and family secrets, the film builds a tense atmosphere that creeps up on you.

The shocking twists and unsettling revelations create an experience that leaves hearts racing, making it a standout.
