#19: Super Security
Landlords can do some really wild things. Some of them can be downright awful, while others can mean well but not quite get it right. We’re giving this landlord the benefit of the doubt and saying that they meant well, but… are missing a few screws. This tenant had just moved in and had requested the locks be changed and upgraded. The landlord obliged but didn’t quite get the request right.
They installed a brand new lock and handle unit but did it completely wrong. They installed the lock on the outside of the door, completely defeating the purpose of having a lock on the front door. What?! Instead of accidentally getting locked outside, this tenant now has the privilege of accidentally getting locked inside their own home! We’re not sure how the person who installed this was able to walk away feeling like they did a job well done with this one.
