They Were Going Through A Tough Time
A total of 9,000 tortoises had to be saved during the operation, but all of them survived. Some of them, but not all of them, did this. The sickness claimed the lives of a total of 1,000 of the 9000 persons it infected. Only 8,000 people were still alive at the end of the day. But they weren’t the healthiest of specimens. This tragedy left these creatures famished and permanently harmed as a result of this occurrence.
In addition to not knowing how many tortoises would survive, there was also the question of where to house them all. In the end, they didn’t want this tortoise’s plight to recur.
