45 Historical Photos Depicting the Story of the Titanic

The Titanic was more than a luxury cruise; it was a gathering of Edwardian-era luminaries. Unlike today’s celebrities, these were esteemed society members or wealthy individuals with notable public images, adding to the ship’s grandeur.

Notable guests included John Jacob Astor of the Astor family Waldorf-Astoria fame and silent movie actress Dorothy Gibson. The Macy’s magnates, Isidore and Ida Straus, also boarded but tragically didn’t survive. Interestingly, a descendant of the Straus is linked to a recent tragedy during the Titanic expedition.
