#20: Calm Before the Storm

On April 9, 1912, final preparations for the RMS Titanic were well underway at Berth 44 in Southampton, England. Crew members loaded tons of provisions, cargo, and coal into the hull while finishing touch-ups across the decks. Crowds gathered along the dock to admire the world’s largest passenger ship. On the very next morning, April 10, the “Unsinkable” liner set sail on her ill-fated maiden voyage to New York.
