#16: Pre-War French Army Maneuvers

By 1912, Europe was on thin ice, and major powers were ramping up military readiness. The French army held large-scale field drills to test troop movements and communication. Before modern radios took over, soldiers relied on old-school signal flags to pass orders along rail lines and open fields. These drills were a clear sign that the continent was quietly gearing up for what would soon become World War I.
