#34: Something Old, New, Borrowed and Blue
The Duchess of Cambridge is often described as one of the more modern members of the British royal family. Considering her hands-on approach to motherhood and her many feminist attributes, Kate is rarely seen as traditional.
But when it came to her wedding day, the Duchess chose to take on just a little bit of tradition. She took on the tradition of wearing something old, new, borrowed, and blue. The “something old” was the technique used to make the lace in her gown. The “something new” was a pair of earrings gifted by her parents. The “something borrowed” was the tiara that the queen lent her. And lastly, the “something blue” was the sash placed on her gown.
