#16: Vermeer’s The Concert was stolen in the 1990 Gardner heist

Johannes Vermeer’s The Concert, painted around 1663–1666, was stolen from Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in 1990. Vermeer produced a few surviving paintings, making its loss significant. The thieves took thirteen works during the same robbery, and despite a reward, The Concert and the other stolen masterpieces remain missing.
