If you were a kid between 1950 and 2000, it’s pretty fair to say that you heard this from one of your parents at one point or another. These days, parents tend to be slightly more careful with their words, but this was a prevalent saying back then.

Cruisin’ for a bruisin’ is probably one of the more iconic things a parent could say to a child, seeing as it is both funny and meaningful. However, we doubt that many parents use this saying these days.
