#10: Totally Stellar, Way Groovy
We associate the slang words “stellar” and “groovy” with the 1960s and 70s. If we’re being honest, they’re pretty solid slang words that both describe when something or someone is excellent or amazing. Sadly, they’ve faded from popularity over the decades. Now, they’re but a distant memory in our scrapbook of nostalgia.

While stellar became popular slang in the 70s, groovy reigned supreme in the 60s. However, the word “groovy” has earlier origins. The word actually popped up in the 1920s. Hip people used “groovy” to describe really cool music. Eventually, the word came to be associated with anything awesome and cool. It’s funny how slang changes over time.
