#7: Etch A Sketch
A toy that turned kids into instant artists… or instant abstract artists, depending on skill level. Turning the two knobs created vertical and horizontal lines, allowing masterpieces or total disasters. The magic was in the shake: one good rattle erased everything. Etch A Sketch became synonymous with creativity and patience — mostly patience — throughout the ’60s and ’70s. It was the original drawing tablet, but with more frustration and way more charm.
