Werther’s Original always felt fancy. The name “Werther” sounds fancy enough to make you think you’ve got something good in your hands. But then you have the implication that this is the real deal, the original version, not to mention the imagery of an old-timey town those bags always used.

They’re a little too hard for people who don’t want their teeth broken, but other people will argue these candies are still great, but now you just feel like you’re at your grandma’s again instead of being fancy. Personally, though, I prefer being at Grandma’s.
