Everyone knows that IKEA is famous for their super-affordable selection of furniture and fixtures. However, have you ever wondered what makes their products so cheap? Sure, most of the manufacturing of IKEA furniture is done in China, but there’s also another very shady method of keeping costs low.
As you can see from this cross-section of a table, there’s nothing sturdy about it. In fact, this entire table is made of cardboard and small pillars to add stability. If it works, there’s nothing to be disappointed about. But you can tell by this picture that that’s definitely not the case.
