Recycling old doll heads
When one product doesn’t sell, it’d be wise for companies to take components of that product and use it in others. Otherwise, they’re looking at large parts of their warehouse packed to the rafters with unused parts. Well, this toy company had to figure out a way to use these doll heads.
And figure out a way, they did! When a curious kid took their blue pony apart, they discovered that the doll head’s ponytail actually provided the tail for this pony. This is unconventional but definitely a great way to cut manufacturing and assembly costs! And they would’ve gotten away with it if it weren’t for one curious child.
