At first, we thought we were looking at the cross-section of a jawbreaker. That block of wood in the middle would explain where the candy’s name comes from. But this is not something you’d want to stick into your mouth. This thing is actually a paint stick.
Painters use sticks to mix paint for whatever purpose. Over time, the outer coating of paint dries, allowing the painter to stick the stick into another can of paint without mixing colors.
