This one isn’t really the mother’s fault, after all, there are some ways to interpret this text; but this goes to show that sometimes it’s better to give up on technology and just pick up the phone. On the other hand, perhaps this mother shouldn’t have been so quick to respond to an such an ambiguous text, and with such enthusiasm.
At least she was supportive when she thought her son was coming out of the closet, otherwise it could have been a lot more awkward. If there’s a lesson to be learned here, it’s that technology can be our friend sometimes, but it can also create a lot of confusion.
