It seems as if the roles have reversed here – the son is the one making the dad jokes, and this father actually knows how to text properly. We’ve seen that fathers don’t really have an issue with texting, only they use this as another platform to share their unwanted dad jokes. That’s they it was perfectly safe to assume this dad would laugh at this not-so-funny joke.
However, though it seems as if the kids are the ones who are embarrassed by their parents’ texting skills (or lack of skills), in this exchange the father is the one who’s embarrassed by his son’s immaturity.
