Fake Social Media Emails
It’s not surprising that scammers have found a way to use our social media addiction to get our personal information. This is usually a phishing scheme where users get a fake email that looks like it’s from an actual social network. It may say that someone is trying to access your account or that you have urgent notifications and that you need to sign in to verify details.
If you click on the link in the email, it will lead you to a fake website that looks very much like the real deal. Once you sign in, scammers have all the information they need to steal your identity, send spam messages to the people you know, or even blackmail you.
