Misleading Attachment
When you get an email with a link from a known person, you rarely think twice before clicking on it. Scammers know this and use our gullibility to misguide us. Once they’ve hacked someone’s account, they send out emails to all their contacts. These emails usually include an attachment or a link to a file-sharing website that requires you to download a file.
Once the recipient downloads the file, it attacks your computer with destructive malware. Depending on what kind of malware it is, scammers then get access to all your sensitive data. If you ever get an email with an unexpected attachment or link, contact the person first and only then click on it.
