Making quicker decisions by reducing the number of alternatives
This is a simple yet effective trick to help you make snappier decisions instead of stewing in a proverbial pool of indecision. Humans normally think that the more options we have, the better. In general, it might be, but having too many options in front of you can prolong the decision-making process.
Whatever you’re trying to decide upon, big or small, take a few moments to eliminate alternatives you’re sure you won’t take. Limiting your choices will allow you to dedicate more time to contemplate what’s on your plate. Another neat trick is to flip a coin and call it in the air. Your mind will unconsciously make a decision based on what you want at that moment.
