Getting people on board with your idea
No matter how rational your idea is, there’ll always be at least one person who’s against it. Being in a position of power doesn’t necessarily mean others will automatically hop aboard when you have an idea. However, if you want people to willingly participate and actively agree to something, allow them to contribute to the idea in the first place.
So, don’t immediately start by instructing others that you’d like to set your idea into motion by consulting with others. Come up with an idea and ask others whether they have anything to contribute. The more people contribute to an idea, the likelier they’ll approve it. Plus, it wouldn’t hurt to have a few extra people coming up with ways to fine-tune your decision.
