Making decisions for other people
This is a nifty trick that parents can use on their kids. When you want your child to do something, try to limit their options as much as possible. For instance, if you want your kid to eat vegetables, don’t ask them, “Do you want veggies?” Chances are they don’t.
Instead, ask them, “Do you want broccoli or carrots?” By doing this, you’re presenting only two options to them, and they’ll be forced to choose the lesser of two vegetable-evils. You can also try doing this with coworkers and colleagues to gently persuade them to do something you want to do.
