Not compostable
We could give Mcdonald’s a little credit for rehauling their business practices and using 100% compostable pods for their coffee. Reducing waste is a great thing to try and do in stores. There seems to have been a bit of confusion over the design of the pods though.
While the pods themselves are compostable, which is great, the plastic wrapping that each individual coffee pod is contained in is definitely not compostable. Does this completely negate the initial effort? Maybe not, but it does make it a lot less effective.
