We’ve moved on quite a way from a peeled orange in a plastic pot. Now grocery stores are charging to peel and segment your orange for you, before wrapping it in plastic and laying it out in a foam tray.
I have to say that this feels a little like when the Romans would get slaves to peel grapes for them. It’s a little indulgent and a lot unnecessary. Also, the best thing about peeling a fresh orange is how juicy all the segments are. There’s no way that these segments don’t taste dry and disappointing
