In social situations, an introvert’s or extrovert’s brain takes a different path. Introverts have the Long Acetylcholine Pathway, whereas extroverts have a very short pathway. A stimulus must pass through many other parts of the brain because it is much longer. The first is the right frontal, insular brain region, which is the part of the brain responsible for error detection. Introverts are overly sensitive to details, which causes them to be self-conscious about their mistakes.
Another is the frontal lobe, which evaluates consequences. This means that an introvert is always concerned about what will happen next. They also tend to rely heavily on their long-term memory bank when speaking. In other words, an event is never just an event for an introvert. While extroverts can simply respond and react to their surroundings, introverts cannot because their minds are overburdened.
