#20: Mayor McCheese (McDonald’s, 1971- Mid 1980s)
Many would say that Mayor McCheese was a relatively well-known character during his office in the McDonald’s universe. With his iconic appearance—a large cheeseburger for a head—he was part of almost every commercial and promotion that McDonald’s did between the early 1970s and 1980s. But after a lawsuit claimed this character was too similar to one in the kids’ show H.R. Pufnstuf, they removed all McDonaldland characters.
