What we teach kids in school has changed over the decades, and so have the school supplies they use. These school supplies were must-haves in the ’80s and ’90s, and you probably had at least 20 out of these 24 items in your backpack when you went to school. We’re here today to relive the good ol’ days by looking at nostalgic supplies from the past that kids today aren’t familiar with.
#1: Mr. Sketch Markers
Mr. Sketch Markers came to the market in 1965, and they’re best known for their scented markers. Not only did you feel like a little Picasso, but that artificial fruit smell completed your masterpiece, even if you didn’t color within the lines.
Mr. Sketch still sells markers, though these things have come under fire. While the materials are safe to smell, it’s a problematic concept, as it could lead kids to smell other things that may be toxic. But look, I grew up with these supplies, and I only lost several hundred brain cells. That’s not too bad, right?
