#7: Loaded Cheese Nachos
While nachos did come from Mexico, the loaded version that is so popular in the U.S. (and worldwide), with melted cheese, jalapeños, and other toppings, was born in Texas. The modern ballpark-style nacho debuted in the 1970s at a Texas Rangers game, thanks to Frank Liberto’s creativity. It quickly became a stadium favorite, far from its simpler roots south of the border.
