Country-wide celebration
Again, we must remind you that Finns don’t particularly care for socializing with others. In fact, being within an arm’s length of another person means you’re in their personal space and need to back up. Just look at how people would rather wait in the snow than stand under the shelter of a bus stop where they’re safe.
But when the hockey season comes around, social distancing is no longer a thing. They’ll gather in huge crowds to cheer on their national team, presumably doing so while sipping cup after cup of coffee or Salmari. And when their hockey team actually wins the gold medal, they’ll muster all their strength to put on a smile.
