MAA
Let’s go back to making fun of the Finnish language. We can’t wrap our minds around how weird it is! First, there are crazy accent marks that can change the meaning of a word entirely. Then there’s a specific term to describe the dirtiness and slushiness levels of snow. But then the Finns do the old switcheroo and make us English speakers look like fools.
See how many English words there are for soil? In Finnish, they have a single word, maa, that literally translates to soil, terrain, earth, ground, and land. Oh, it can also mean other things like country, area, countryside, and world. Talk about versatile!
