Blizzards are the norm
Here in the US, if it snows more than foot overnight, then we cancel schools. In Finland, if it snows to more than a meter (3.2 feet, give or take), that’s no excuse to be lazy and get out of school. Blizzards in Northern Europe are absolutely insane, but in Finland, it’s just a regular part of life. Live with it.
As for other countries in Europe, when it snows just a little, it’s a call for celebration. Everyone gets comfy, sits around the fireplace, tells stories, and sips hot cocoa. Finnish people have no time to enjoy the snow! Just put on your mittens, wear a thick coat, and go on with your day as if the worst blizzard of all time didn’t just bury your car in shards of ice.
