#8: The leg lamp from A Christmas Story (1983)
Fragile crate. Fishnet stocking. High heel. A lampshade glowing in the front window while one proud father admires his “major award.” Very little about the object should have suggested a future home-decor business, yet A Christmas Story gradually became a holiday institution through television broadcasts and annual family rewatches. One fan took the affection further than most. Brian Jones loved the film, received a homemade leg-lamp replica from his parents, and eventually started a business manufacturing versions for people who wanted the Parker family’s gloriously questionable decoration in their own homes.
