Stranger danger
Here’s a tip for all of the parents out there: teach your kids about stranger danger. Although the number of kidnapping cases has gone down drastically, you never want your child to become a statistical anomaly.
One day, OP encountered a classic story of attempted child abduction. When OP was 8 years old, he and a neighbor had gone shopping for candy. While leaving the store, they ran into a creep who told the pair that their parents asked him to pick them up. OP’s internal stranger-danger alarm went off and said he and his friend lived at the house right next to them (they didn’t). His quick thinking potentially saved his and his neighbor’s life.
