Showing Affection
It’s often the little things that are likely to shock you when you’re traveling abroad. When residents in a foreign country surround you, you’d be surprised at how everyone behaves towards each other and tourists. We’ve already discussed the public displays of affection, but it’s not necessarily the public affection that catches you off-guard.
When you haven’t grown up with much affection towards you or others, you may be culture-shocked at how affectionate people in some countries can be. some people have a habit of kissing or hugging people they’ve just met! One traveler didn’t know how to respond to receiving their first hug. It can be an emotional experience for some. It can also be a very positive experience.
