Hot and Cold
Whether a beverage is served hot or chilled greatly depends on the drink – right? When it comes to water, it depends on where you are in the world. Many countries serve water at room temperature or hot. It might come as a surprise, but there are fewer countries that prefer to have their water served chilled.
Traveling to a new country, you might experience culture shock when you ask for water and get served differently than you were expecting. One traveler visiting China expressed their culture shock when they realized locals drank their water hot with meals. She even attempted to like it more than iced water. It turns out old habits die hard, and she still preferred iced water.
