To Tip or Not to Tip?
If you have eaten out in different places worldwide, you may have encountered tipping the waiter/waitress because it’s expected. While eating in other areas, tipping is uncommon or even found to be offensive. This is actually something that is often mentioned in travel guides – whether or not tipping is accepted in the country.

A visitor to the United States had grown up where tipping isn’t heard of. If you left extra money for the staff, the service or food must have been outstanding. They were culture-shocked by the regularity of giving the server a tip, no matter the quality of service. Tipping is an expected gesture in the U.S. as it serves an income for restaurant workers.
