#17: The Empire Strikes Back
Misquote: “Luke, I am your father.”
Real Quote: “No, I am your father.”
Star Wars is a series full of misquotes, including the most iconic scene in Episode V, if not the most iconic scene in the entire series. Darth Vader reveals to Luke, who was told that his father was dead, that he is Luke’s father. Except most people quoting this movie got it wrong.

I suppose the misquote is to give more context when people quote the line outside of the movie. But in the film, Vader says the quote after Luke blames Vader for killing his father. And if you think I’m wrong, then search your feelings. You know it to be true.
