Long before Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994), Jim Carrey was already putting his incredible physical comedy to use. In the quirky 1988 sci-fi musical Earth Girls Are Easy, he played Wiploc, one of three furry aliens who crash their ship in a California swimming pool. Hidden under layers of red fur makeup, his wild energy was impossible to miss. While he had a few smaller parts before this, like in Peggy Sue Got Married (1986), this role let him be the kind of over-the-top character that would soon make him a superstar.
