Dominoes Is the Unofficial Sport
Every country has its favorite card game. In Cuba, their card game isn’t exactly a card game per se. It’s more of a block game. What we’re trying to say is that people in Cuba are bonkers for dominoes. There’s really no rhyme or reason to it; if you travel to Cuba, you’ll find people sitting outside of shops or on the sidewalks playing dominoes.
The game is so ingrained in Cuban culture that you might even spot Cubans getting together for a game of dominoes on the weekends. They don’t play for money, but they do punish losers by having them stand up until they win a hand, and for the not-so-domino-savvy, that can mean never sitting down until the game breaks up.
