Average Cuban Salary is About $200
There’s a pretty offensive myth spreading online that Cubans earn only about $20 every month, on average. That figure is off by only ten times. In actuality, the average Cuban income is roughly $200, which is about enough to cover the basic needs for a family of three or four.
But if you survey those living in urban areas of Cuba, that figure jumps to between $1,000 and $2,000. About half of the island country’s population identifies as entrepreneurs, so you can bet that they’re doing their best to make money however they can. Many of those surveyed were optimistic about salary increases in the next 6-12 months.
