Nintendo and Van Gogh
When we think of great painters of the 19th century like Van-Gogh we don’t really seem to associate it with anything video games-related. But apparently, 1889 was a big year for both because of events bringing a lot of glory and appreciation worldwide.
In 1889, Vincent Van Gogh painted his phenomenal masterpiece, the “Starry Night” while staying in a mental asylum, whilst in the same year, Nintendo was founded as a corporation in Japan. Not with the NES consoles directly, but for playing cards and gambling. Both are still loved worldwide today.
