#15: What About Spain?
I have a lot of questions about this next image. First, why would anyone say, “If you’re white, you can’t speak Spanish”? Is that a commentary on white people being bad at learning languages? Did this person think that learning a foreign language is a form of cultural appropriation and thought it was important to take a stand?

And most importantly, were they not aware that there are all sorts of white people who speak Spanish natively? Now, to be fair, race and ethnicity are complex issues. But I think it’s pretty safe to say that “White people can’t speak Spanish” is a pretty moronic idea.
