#7: Opposites Attract
Sometimes, we take things for granted and never really think about what they mean. This person tweeted out the most random thought, but it really struck a chord with people because of how random it was. They pointed out how “firefly” and “waterfall” are complete opposites of each other. One is a bug and the other an inanimate thing found in nature, so how could that possibly be?
These words are opposites of each other if you just look at the words themselves and don’t think about the objects associated with them. Water and fire are considered opposites of each other since one can’t exist in the presence of the other. Falling and flying could be considered opposites since falling would be going in the opposite direction of flying. That’s how we figure this person came to that conclusion. It’s kind of random, but it works!
