We’ve never thought about this before, but now, thanks to this tweet, we have one more nagging thought to keep us up at night. Why doesn’t the word “human” follow the same pluralization of “man” and “woman”? After all, men and women are all human. Unlike most of the illogical things here, this one actually has an explanation. While the words “men” and “women” are old native English words, the word “human” is derived from the Latin word humanus.
