#2: What Do Cats and Landlords Have in Common?

This user pointed something out that we can’t unsee (on unlearn). They posted a practical list of English words that contain the word “meow” in them and the last one threw us for a loop. They list normal, very obvious words that all have to do with meowing and then surprise us all by listing “homeowner” at the end. How did they even notice that?

provided by constative.com

The word “homeowner” isn’t pronounced with the sound of the word “meow” even though it contains the spelling. Since it’s a compound word, each part of the word is pronounced separately. But since this poster pointed out the hidden meow, we can’t unsee it! We dare you not to pronounce it as “ho-meow-ner” in your head from now on.
